Welcome to SISUS 2018!
Dear Delegates,
Welcome to the first Stanford International Security Undergraduate Simulation (SISUS) - the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)! This conference was created with the unique goal of bringing together students from various academic and extracurricular backgrounds to simulate the nature of modern international conflict. As real world disputes shift from the battlefield to the dark web, mediators must devise new problem-solving strategies and utilize professionals with different skills. As cyber and information warfare threaten the stability of democratic institutions, computer scientists, engineers, and historians alike are finding their expertise in high demand. Through this simulation, we hope that students in political and traditionally apolitical fields will use their unique ability to tackle complex international security issues, and protect the integrity of our elections, media and security of private information against the ever-changing tools of aggression in the cyberspace.
